THE MIMIC SERIES

Each three-episode chapter of this photorealistic supernatural anthology drops ordinary people into a familiar place, such as a farmhouse, an apartment block, a suburban cul-de-sac, or a night-shift workplace, where something has begun impersonating someone they trust. The creatures look and sound almost perfectly human, but they confuse shared memories, repeat private conversations word for word, misread grief and affection, and behave wrongly when they think no one is watching. Our protagonists, a worried sister, a night-shift guard, a new neighbor, or a husband who senses something off, must separate the real from the copy using reflections, late-night phone calls, security footage, and sounds that should not exist, while the people they love appear in rooms they could not possibly be in. Shot in a grounded, cinematic style with deliberate Hollywood camera angles, including slow push-ins, low-angle reveals, over-the-shoulder framing, Dutch tilts, and tense wide establishing shots, the series builds dread through silence and uncertainty rather than jump scares. Every story moves slowly toward a chilling final revelation about who was copied long before the characters realized it, leaving viewers doubting the faces closest to them.
