Channel 99: Please Stand By

Each week, pompous armchair critic Desmond Pryce and his chaos-loving best friend Moose are stuck in a threadbare public-access studio where the budget has collapsed so badly that they appear as literal sock puppets, riffing on an anthology of cursed AI-generated shows like a cooking contest judged by sentient fog or a courtroom drama in which every witness is the same stock-photo man. When a broadcast anomaly sucks them through their own television screen, they land in the cosmic memory archive, a sprawling, glitchy library of every forgotten, abandoned, and algorithmically mangled show ever made. A ruthless content-optimization algorithm begins editing them out of existence scene by scene, trimming their dialogue, swapping their faces, and cutting their history together, which forces the bickering duo to confront the resentments and unspoken affection underlying their imperfect friendship. Blending absurdist sketch parody, sharp media satire, and a surprisingly warm buddy-comedy heart, the series asks whether genuine human connection can survive in a world of endlessly generated content.
