A surreal 90s-style sitcom that blends traditional family sitcom tropes with darkness of body horror and family dysfunction. The family is like "Married With Children" the tone of the show is adultswim style dark humor and edgy unhinged grotesque and not afraid go to weird dark places. The show revolves around Jerry, a typical suburban dad whose life is turned upside down after he finds a mystical amulet, transforming him into Dog Dad — a man with the head and instincts of a golden retriever. Despite this bizarre change, the kids are in denial that their dad Jerry is still with them and hilarity ensues. The show centers on Ginda, the flamboyant matriarch who decides to use this as a chance to spark up her dating life while the rest of the family tries to deal with the fallout of Jerry’s transformation. The show plays on typical 90s sitcom tropes and jokey cliches but weird bizarre twists that are dark and unexpected, sad, ridiculous and random. "Dog Of The House" explores the premise what if a dad Jerry had his head replaced with a dog and dog-like behaviors, leading to funny misunderstandings. Tone-deaf sitcom jokes mask the pain of the situation and cover Ginda's innuendo-laden lines. The characters in the show use non sequiturs and use words incorrectly. The show combines slapstick humor with serious, complex issues, creating a surreal experience. Each episode mixes funny situations involving dog dad acting as dog in life and at work mixed with serious moments focusing on Ginda's affairs and the family's reactions. The family tries to reverse the transformation, consulting a mystic vet, Dr Edelmen who isn't helpful. He says the amulet is indecipherable, and no one can reverse its effects. As time passes, the family comes to terms with the new reality while Ginda spirals. To cope Ginda drinks a lot and goes on dates at The Ham Sandwich Barrel (sandwiches dumped on tables by the barrel) and Fettucini Factory. PREQUEL: The amulet opened up a portal to the realm of the golden guardians of the retrievers a mystic empire that transported their chosen one, "Aristephocles" into the body of Jerry in hopes of recovering the golden bone. The guardians want to prevent their golden empire Guau Guau from being invaded by the armored bush baby army aka Babbens. Nocturno the evil Spanish sorcerer whose wife "Terri" was killed by the Guardians leads the evil babbens and seeks out Aristephocles. The seven golden retriever Gods from Guau Guau appear in cloud portals to occasionally check on Aristephocles' quest who is now a dumb dog. The book is Legend of the Golden Guardian Retrievers Battle For Ghaohol: Rise Of the Paw.
