Domestic Warfare

It is that serious.

Dave and Karen are, by every outward measure, a completely normal couple living a completely normal life. The only catch: neither of them has ever once reacted to anything at a normal scale. A rat in the kitchen isn't a rat — it's a bio-threat requiring hazmat masks, motion-tracking flashlights, and a whispered countdown. A missing sock isn't laundry — it's a search-and-rescue operation, complete with explorer gear, a hand-drawn map of the apartment, and genuine tears when it's finally found wedged behind the dryer. A weird noise from the ceiling at 2am becomes a full horror-movie descent into the attic, flashlight-under-chin included. Running out of coffee filters becomes a heist. A wasp on the balcony becomes a kaiju movie. Every episode takes one completely mundane household moment and gives it the full genre treatment — action, horror, heist, spy thriller, disaster movie, war epic — while Dave and Karen play it with total, unblinking sincerity. They are never joking. The stakes are always, provably, nothing. That does not slow them down even slightly. Watching from the couch arm, unmoved by any of it, is their cat Biscuit — the only member of the household who understands exactly how small these problems actually are, and who's always ready with one perfectly-timed, devastating comment once the smoke clears.
