[thunder rumbles] People have always been fascinated with capturing moments, photographs, recordings. But what happens when something captures a moment that hasn't happened yet? [thunder rumbles] You're on the air. [static] Is this Jack? Depends who's asking. My name is Trent. I think I found something that shouldn't exist. That's usually how the interesting stories start. I bought a camera at an estate sale. [camera clicks] What's so special about it? It took pictures of things before they happened. [thunder rumbles] This camera, are you thinking it's some sort of prediction device? I don't know, man. I just snap photos and the next thing I know, those photos happen. I took a photo of a blank piece of paper, right? A lotto ticket's numbers just appeared in it. Guess what I'm doing later today. There are stories, old ones, that speak of jinn binding themselves to ordinary objects, a camera, a mirror, a ring. Not because the object is magical, but because it's a doorway. Once you look through it, the jinn doesn't have to change the world around you. It only has to change how you perceive it. [gasps] Bro, I didn't rub this thing like a lamp or anything. I just took pictures. I didn't make any wishes, dude. Time begins to fold in on itself. Yesterday whispers tomorrow. Before long, you're no longer seeing the future. You're seeing exactly what it wants you to see. The moment you believe a vision is inevitable, you've already surrendered your free will. What are you doing, Trent? What if it steals your soul like a photo, but through reflection? [camera clicks] Trent? Trent, do not turn around. [static] Harold Vale, 1987. He never came back. Trent has his camera. I know what it wants. It takes pictures of the people who shouldn't be there. Trent, do not touch that camera. [camera clicks] Jack, I think it already... I think it went off. What is it pointing at? Jack, I think it already took one of you. Photographs are memories. They prove that something existed. But some photographs aren't trying to remember the past. Some are waiting for the future. This is Jack Mercer, reminding you, be careful what you choose to capture. [camera clicks]
